  • Thanks! I had the same issue today! But using an i1 Display 2… It looks terribly dark inside FCP 7… And I do remember having seen that version thing, I’m gonna change it and do some tests…

    Thanks!

Hi everyone! Again, I’ve been investigating about this, and it seems to be a Resolve bug or a Resolve usual occurrence, it happens even in the Davinci color space, when a Lut is applied, or heavy correction is applied and taken back.

Thanks, yeah I was aware of that, and it’s been a year. And since there is a R3D IDT built into Resolve, I thought it should work, and that somebody had used it.

I really like the colors, but you lose a lot of information.

    Thanks again!

It’s been two years and they still haven’t fixed it.

I was testing this as well and the footage is getting clipped in the highlights and you’re losing latitude in the top part and it adds a lot of noise. The colors are great thought.

Maybe it only works with the default ISO of 320. Because I almost always shoot at ISO 800 I can’t test it. But after selecting ACES and then setting the IDT to Red and the ODT to 709, all my footage seems overexposed, you can pull it back, but not the highlights and it adds significant noise.

Have any of you successfully graded something using RED footage and ACES in Resolve?

    Thanks.

I read that part, and I can do the mix with the Key Gain slider, which is a lot like the HDR blend slider on Redcine X.

So this is all you can do? Or is there an advanced technique to get better results? I tried doing an HSL Key, but the results were awful.
