I swapped to firewire 800 from my drive to a 400 – 800 converter on my Mac and seems to work fine now. Strange. I suppose essentially it is now running as firewire 800.

To be honest, I don’t really, but was wondering if I could change FCPX to any size. Finished in AE as uncompressed QT in end, but will have a fiddle with other settings in AE.

I think my AE does funny stuff. In the end, turning off the continually rasterise switch fixed the issue. Then when I’ve done the camera moves, I switch back on and all is good.

But the comp won’t animate in 3D if the switch is on.

Any ideas on this? I’ve got another animation on the go and this is now a real issue.

I’ve rebuild the whole website in AE shape layers so I can zoom in, but because I have masks within the pre-comp, I now cannot use the 3D camera. I know I can zoom in, but it would be nice to use the 3D camera as I also want the background elements to move too.

I watched a tutorial once where they brought in some footage with a black background and simply applied ADD from the blend mode and as if by magic it keyed out the background. Never been able to replicate since.

Not great news as I have about 40 illustrations, but at least there is a way!

So as long as the files are the same, then we’re good to just relink?

Thanks. Yes I find the same. Usually a restart does the trick (or a purge or both), but this time the computer sounds like it’s “working” the whole time. Even at rest.
