    Ah, brilliant. Big help. Thanks.

One last thing. How do you adjust and resave a colour preset once you’ve set it up?

Hmm, must be doing something wrong. Doesn’t work for me.

You are 100% right. Cool, that’s actually quite a nifty function.

I’d just like to add to this thread. I did the most unbelievably stupid after a shoot yesterday and deleted the footage from a card instead of clearing the external hard drive I wanted to transfer too. I won’t make that mistake again!

I downloaded the trial version of Boomerang. It found 500MB of 10GB I had on the card.

Luckily, I had a brain wave and went into the trash bin (Mac Lion) and there was the file! I copied it and pasted it to my desktop (I couldn’t ‘put it back’ as I’d already put new stuff on the card thinking it was the hard drive – only folders mind). All worked out OK.

Before you go and spend money on expensive software, it’s worth noting the above!

    That’s very kind.

I’ve masked each picture and used the change to color effect to achieve what I want. A but messy, but job done.

    Thanks again!

March 27, 2012 at 1:12 pm in reply to: Multicam clip and unsupported audio

No, now at a complete loss…

Exported just the audio, pulled it into the multicam clip and was hoping that would solve it, but when I turn audio off on the other clips, unless I select just the audio clip (with no visuals) I get no sound…

This is so frustrating!! I can deselect the cut Visual and Audio to just Visual, which is fine and keeps the cuts to just visual, BUT it’s still got two channels EVEN THOUGH i’ve deselected one of the channels in the Multicam clip (browser in the timeline showing all multicam clips and how they are synced).

    There must be a way?

OK finally solved it. Not very intuiative!

You have to go in and first enable audio only editing, make the first cut at the beginning and then enable just video editing and make the rest of your cuts. Phew!

March 27, 2012 at 1:01 pm in reply to: Inaccurate markers in FCPX

OK, will try turning skimming off, but as I’m not touching the mouse and just hitting the M key at various points, I can’t see this making much difference, tho worth a shot.

Only other way around this issues is to put the audio on it’s own timeline so FCPX doesn’t have to work as hard…

    Hurrah! You are a genius!

I clicked preserve frame rate when nested and also preserve resolution when nested. Solved!

    Thank you! One to remember.
