When XML first was supported, I made new projects with my default project settings. This made the XML import go nuts and give me all sorts of problems like you’re experiencing.

You know what? The problem was my settings. Don’t use ‘extracting reel numbers from EDL’ and all that. It will only confuse Resolve. It only does what you’re telling the software to do.

Try removing all sorts of things like that, and then have a go.

Go to the Conform page, Load XML, and let Resolve setup the project settings and import source media.

It might open a file browser for you to guide Resolve to the correct folder where the media is saved.

As for pre-conform, did the timeline in FCP have multi tracks? Was the video spread all over those tracks? Because then that’s the problem. Flatten the sequence to one track and export only this track to the EDL. The pre-conform should be no problem then.

  • Let’s keep this thread dead until we know more about 8.1 and if that update will fix the issue.

  • One can always check the timecode. 🙂

I used to. In fact, I used my Wacom for five years with Color, and a little over 6 months with Resolve before I bought a control surface.

With the new 3-way UI it’s way easier to use a Wacom.

    Good luck!

  • I’m using an app called iStat Menus, this will add icons to the menu bar which will tell you about the system and its performance.

  • I had someone breathing down my neck (you know who you are 😉 ) so I took a break in the onlining.

I rendered a 5 min sequence in 4,5K without even a hickup. Looks like the issue will be Resolve(d!) in the update coming soon.

  • I’ve got the stock 6GB the Mac came with. And yes I’m on Lion, 10.7.1 at the moment.
I haven’t tested RED in a while and have been steering clear of RED projects cause of these issues.

I’ll give it a go later today when I’m done onlining an episode.

  • Ouch..

So this “Power House” error is Resolve telling me in a very abstract way that it’s running out of RAM? It’s not tied up to RED in specific?

Setting timeline to 26fps for 25fps playback? Weird. Shouldn’t be like that.

Could you provide us a screenshot of your Config page? That might help us help you. 🙂
