Bret the files i tested were from a Canon 60D, so they are h264 files wrapped in .mov, so there shouldn’t be a problem of reading them natively

I’m just a little frustrated that there isn’t an option, not to copy the original media if you chose to create optimised media :/

Yeah but not the 13″ MBP which is the one i’m debating of buying, both computers have the Intel HD Graphics 4000

I also forgot to mention that the same problem occurs on that Macbook with Color 1.5, which was never a big deal, since the monitor was too small for grading anyway. But from what I know Color 1.5 doesn’t use OpenCL so I’m still at a loss for why it would do that 🙁

  • From everything I read there’s no need to use anything above ProResLT for the DSLR, since going higher will not give you better overall quality. The only real reason to go higher is if you’re going to be using lots of Filters on the things you shot

Thanks a lot for all the answers Jeff

but that brings me back to the source of my original question, which is why people are excited that FCP-X is going to work with ColorSync?

    thanks again,

worked fine for me, copied it to the SD card from my Mac and then upgraded on the Camera

Format the SD card in the camera before copying the file over
