I guess what I’m saying is that I had twelve each 45W light fluorescents blaring at a bookcase maybe twelve feet away, with talent 7 feet from lens, and that was maybe ISO 1000 to get a good picture.
With my HF S10’s I would have had to shut over half of those lightbulbs off, or else I would have been wayyyy overexposed.

I had a two cam shoot and an H4N, and synching them up was easy. I don’t know how you do it in your NLE, but in Vegas you just line up the clap-board spikes, then go to the end of the recordings, grab the lower right-hand corner of the track, press CTRL, and it allows you to stretch or shrink the length without altering the pitch. It took maybe five minutes, tops (first time).
I don’t want to argue NLE’s, but I had an editor doing it in FCP and he said it was very difficult, and that he needed PluralEyes to do it. I don’t know if it really was harder in FCP or if he just did not know how to do it, but in Vegas it was a snap.

You know, so many people have hijacked this thread that I have gotten all mixed up as to who posted what. (It is also interesting that all of the moderators sat this one out; and with some of the attitudes displayed, I am starting to understand why.)
Alf is right. If many other people are using 9.0e without issues (and they are), then the issue has to be hardware or software. The truth does not change just because one does not want to hear it.
Jonathan, assuming your hardware is nothing unusual, have you tried Format C:\? I know that is never fun, and it takes a long time, but a clean install can work wonders. Plus, it is much cheaper as a troubleshooting step than dropping $2500.00 on CS5; and as Steve said (whether on this thread or another one), if your system is not stable under Vegas you won’t be under Premiere.

Hm. Perhaps there is something I don’t understand. I thought the lower the ISO, the higher the quality?
What ISO is ideal for top-quality DVD/BluRay?

My C:\ and D:\ are both RAID 0 with two disks each.
I was told that it does very little to have C:\ in RAID 0, so I plan to make C:\ a standalone single drive, and put D:\ in RAID 5, with three disks (and also back that up externally). That way, if anything bad happens, I don’t lose data.
I was told to render to D:\Temp, and it seems to work.

Yeah, I’d like to see those things also. Either native within Vegas, or as an optional plug-in like Boris RED, but 100% compatible with Vegas.
