I have not tried it yet, but they say it helps to convert to Cineform .avi or .mov. It interpolates 4:2:0 to 4:2:2.

Steve, do you mean to suggest that Microsoft has an innate need to develop new and better products that will keep an income stream coming in, so that they can pay their employees, and make a profit?

I guess I am not clear why you just don’t install Windows 7 x64 Home Premium OEM, and be done with the problem???

Steve, I have not heard of any issues with the latest version of Quicktime (7.6.9), Win7x64 and Vegas Pro 10.0a. I am just aware from earlier threads that there are sometimes issues with Quicktime, so I thought to install the latest known good version (which from other threads seemed to be 7.6.2). Is that wrong?
Are others having success with Quicktime 7.6.9? My preference is to install the latest version, but I don’t want to ‘step into bugs.’
Should I go ahead and install 7.6.9, and then if that does not work, uninstall it and download 7.6.2 from the Avid site?
I apologize for any ignorance. Video is a sideline for me, and I am not able to keep up on the COW as well as I want.

I am not an expert on this, but only know what I read. Maximum PC was talking about the upcoming 8 core AMD Bulldozer architecture, and how its new ‘paired’ core structure (or whatever they called it) is supposed to be 50 percent faster than Intel’s hyperthreading.
From what they were saying, Bulldozer is supposed to be a completely new architecture, with a lot of promise. I also wonder how it will work with Vegas Pro.
Now if only AMD’s video cards had CUDA cores….

I have the 24-105mm F4L, but when I tried to use it I needed more than four times the light as the HF S10 (I needed 24 CLF’s). It was so bright I almost had issues reading the teleprompter.
The HF S10 has an F1.8 lens. I am not sure how the HF S10 manages to get everything all into focus with an F1.8 lens (no bokeh there!) but it seems to. When I asked why this was before, some suggested that perhaps it uses a lot of auto-gain (which might also help explain the decrease in image quality).

Why not try 9.0e?
That seems to be the version that worked for most people. It should be a short download.

As was said before, if your system is not stable under Vegas, it will not be stable under Adobe (or anything else).
What is your initial clock speed? I would back off the overclock. Something is not working for you, and the overclock seems to be a potential candidate.
Other than that, have you checked your RAM?
