  • Yeah, it’s pretty puzzling to me as well. Never had any of these problems on the Mac.

It may be also worthy mentioning that the files I have were sent to me over the net. In any case, I may try transferring them to the Mac and seeing if it works there. Maybe there’s something wrong with the actual files.

  • Oddly enough, in the Video subfolder of the Contents folder, the MXF files now have Windows Media Player symbols. I tried them out and I was able to see the footage.

However, I do not think the player is letting me see the entire clip, nor do I think it is processing it quite right.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall everything? Or must I have the HPX300 in order to get the proper driver?

  • So, I originally downloaded the drivers for the PC, but I could not select any cameras because I did not have them on hand.

I then downloaded the AVC-Intra decoder as you specified.

    Then, I downloaded the P2CMS.

However, now that I have the P2CMS up and running, it doesn’t see any of the files from the HPX300 AVC-I footage.

I even tried dragging and dropping the contents of each folder, but none would take…

    What am I doing wrong?

  • I actually went to the download site and downloaded the AVC-Intra decoder for it, which also states it as the P2 viewer. The top option, P2CMS download, looks like it is only for DVCPRO in terms of the way they have it listed; but I will try it anyways. This could be my problem (and Panasonic for a bad way of listing it!).

Any further help in case this doesn’t work would be great! And, thanks for the quick response.

So it would be a bad idea to use ProRes 422 HQ in Color then?

And again, thanks guys. I appreciate all the help.

I was thinking Calibrated, but I may use COLOR. So I will probably stick with ProRes 422, I was leaning towards that anyways.

I plan to output this to Blu-Ray and also have it projected on some big screens. Would ProRes 422 or ProRes 422 HQ be better for this? Or would each be respective to Blu-Ray and big screens?

    Thanks for the response, Dave.

I am getting hung up on the first two parts though; I believe I may just be over-thinking.

What do you mean when you say, “Put a null object at the anchor point of the sphere layer”?

And, “Point the camera at the sphere layer and make the sphere layer LOOK AT (an expression term) the camera”?

For the first part, I am imagining that you match the anchor points of both the sphere layer and null object.

For the second part, I am quite confused with the “LOOK AT” expression term.

Again, thanks for the help. It is much appreciated.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate it. I thought it would be something like that, but my mind was fried by that point.

I am not sure why so many assumptions have misconstrued what I was trying to ask.

But yes, I can make WAV files; after having done some more research on the net. Also, everyone here can convert, it is just the amount of tracks and the integration of Pro Tools that has been a worry.

Everything can be done, I think they just wanted to know if it could be more efficient on one end or the other since time is money.

    Thanks for all the comments.

I never said that the OMFs did not work. They are working with over 100 audio tracks, and for the setup they have, Pro Tools has told them it will not work properly.
