I don’t mean film noir. That would have been lovely though. I’m just thinking of anyway to make it interesting.

I’ll post some stills this afternoon to show what I mean.

Is there any type of photo – tiff, png, or jpg – that is better than another to use in FCP7?

It’s not about saving space. It’s the favt that large photo files can make FCP act real wonky. With that in mind, I’m trying to figure out a way to edit with lower rez versions than I might use so I dont have memory or speed issues. Can I do that? It seems like you think that’s a bad idea all way round.

Everything is on an external. But thanks for the reminder!

what about Premiere? Would i have to transcode everything? How about FCPX? I have 4tb of raw footage for a feature I’m getting ready to start editing so I want something where I’m not transcoding all of that footage.

Im using my computer and a Samsung Syncmaster. So far, I see no problems on it.

That said, I’ve also noticed some footage is 30fps. It doesnt seem jumpy. All the footage is from a sitdown interview which might be why. Should I convert exported .mov files I’m using to 24fps though to ensure no problems? Or do you think I can trust my eyes here? I realize there is no clear cut answer to this.

Got it. Well, I’m going straight from the mic to the camera without a mixer….

What do you mean? That they should all be mic or all be line? Or that the relative levels (whether the input is one a 2 or a 7) should be the same?

There is an attenuater switch. Should I keep that on with this mic then? I’ll try that…
