In 720p 24p mode? The Z1U is pretty far off 1080i HDV- pretty much apples and oranges. I’d say rent another Varicaam when you truly need 2 cams.

1200A deck is a $300/day rental. Surely that’s not unattainable for a full rez HD master if you need one on tape.

Unknown at this time. The current P2 readers are based on USB-2 which I’ve seen run at up to 20 MB/second on Mac and 30 on a PC. That would move one gigabyte within 1-2 minutes.
