1.85’s would make no sense as the cam already shoots in 16:9.

The tape unit only records DV. DVCPRO50 cannot be recorded to tape with an HVX. So this is a moot point.

There’s in theory no roadblock here except for performance. Remember to record DVCPROHD you need to hit and sustain 14 MB/second. Most of the CF cards won’t cut it.

Avid was demoing a multi-stream edit directly from P2 in their booth so it’s possible. Though I think you’ll find perfomance is greatly improved by transferring to hard drive.

Should be no problem.

With the anamorphic you would want to create a letterboxed version for 4:3. If letterbox is not acceptable- shoot full frame with no anamorphic. If you’re positive you don’t want to go to film or 24p DVD then go 24p standard.

RAM and Processor speed is crucial but the GPU is where all of the heavy lifting is done. It has the greatest effect on Motion’s performance.

That would create an incredibly huge amount of work and result in footage that couldn’t be accurately coordinated with the original timecode. I’d highly recommend digging into the budget for another day’s deck rental- depending of course on the projects overall import.
