I asked about the specs on the Touch Bar last week during the Creative Summit. It’s a 10-point multitouch touch screen measuring 2170×60 pixels. In terms of Final Cut Pro X that permits up to a 30 level high timeline display with essentially unlimited length. That is down to 1 pixel per level + 1 pixel for space in-between. It will be intriguing to see how different developers adapt to this new interface. Here are some examples:

Adobe seems to be chasing VR in their last few PPro updates. I love viewing VR but can’t honestly say I’ve had a need to edit it just yet. Though of course there’s Dashwood for that if I do. Anyone else?

Folder =Event is not accurate from a metadata/workflow perspective and would lead a poor Avid editor down precisely the wrong path toward learning the advantages of X over all ofher NLEs. They are fundamentally different in functionality. One is a container with zero awareness of its contents while the other is a live metadata placeholder.

As the menu item gets named to whatever you save your workspace as, I’m not able to get OS System Prefs shortcuts to work- I would guess it only functions on app-defined menu items.
However, Keyboard Maestro works like a charm for toggling between custom workspaces in FCPX and will rock every other aspect of your daily Mac computing needs.

You can’t directly in X as of now. Keyboard Maestro would be a workaround.
