If it’s really shot and encoded correctly it should be interpreted automatically.

Color board is per clip/not global, so you need to select individually.

Yeah you definitely don’t want to muck around within the library structure in the finder. And you don’t want to move or rename internal files becuase it causes everything to break. I would suggest starting a new Library and copying your projects into it and then reimporting all media. And do all of this in FCPX, not the Finder.

Relinking won’t change the clip name, so I would suggest confirming in the Event Browser.

In playing with one at a store, I think the form factor of the Surface is actually kinda compelling especially if you’re in the illustration business. The Surface Dial however adds very little other than a nice gimmick for demos and the lack of expandability nullifies one of the chief advantages of a Windows PC in the first place. It’s more like a statement of what Microsoft could do in hardware than an actual computer you need.

Ingest as is into FCPX- generate proxies- edit in proxy mode- switch to original quality mode for final edit output-done.
