Hey guys. I’m new to the forum. I’m using FCPX 10.3. I have an adjustment layer with a LUT over all my clips but everytime I go to tweak the colors/exposure on my clips the adjustment layer gets selected & tweaked instead. is there a way I can bypass the still visible LUT layer and tweak the clips under without having to manually click each one?

Color board is per clip/not global, so you need to select individually.

pressing ‘C’ should select the clip on the primary storyline that’s under the playhead.

Right which in this case will be the “adjustment” layer, which I personally am not a fan of because it’s not something FCPX itself is aware of.

correct. I’m trying to avoid pressing any keys & auto select the under clips as if the layer didn’t exist. Maybe there will be an option in 10.4

Map a key to “select below”.

I know you want to not press anything and have FCPX know which layer in the stack you want to adjust, but that’s a tall order.

10.4 now has roles based clip selection. You can use the arrow keys to select the next/previous clip based on its role wherever it may be in the stack.
