Depends entirely on the workflow- some camera LUTs are built in (ARRI Alexa e.g.) and can be toggled in the inspector. Others would require a 3rd party plugin to display such as https://www.motionvfx.com/mplugs-107.html

If all you want is transcode to ProRes you can do this yourself with any number of dailies prep apps. I’d love it if FCPX made my dinner too.

Probably more because all of those long-GOP formats lose major quality when re-encoded. I don’t follow how that’s Apple’s fault. If every camera recorded to ProRes instead of H.264 we’d be all set.
