I’ve installed the applications on my hard drive and am trying to install the other items on my external drive and it tells me that the “software must be installed on the running system” – ie it won’t let me install it on my Lacie external drive which has a ton of space on it…..any thoughts?

THank you Tom! 2 questions….what’s the best way to uninstall Final Cut Studio? And i thought i needed Final Cut Studio 1 installed in order to install the upgrade. is this true?

Uh oh. Can i uninstall the final cut studio pro to just put the applications on the internal drive and the rest of the things on an external drive and then do the same with the upgrade? that way i will free up lots of my drive space. if this is the way to go, do you know how i go about uninstalling the original studio pro which i’ve already installed? Thank you for your advice!

THANK YOU!!! That worked. I have one follow up question that is sort of related only in that I discovered the capture presets thanks to your reply- what should my capture presets be if I am shooting on Panasonic’s DVX 100A in the 24PA mode??? THank you again!
