Thanks for the help Andy! I’ll definitely look into that…

I should add that I’m definitely using the invigorator renderer.

Ah yes I did try displacement maps, which really helped…but not quite enough to make it believable. I’ll try the suggestions above – many thanks for the help, chaps!

Wow, that’s quite something! Annoyingly, I’d never have thought of doing that. What a difference – much more subtle. Many thanks for the tip.

Yep, all fair points. The mood board is being developed as we speak…just wondered if anyone had any random, favourite effects for grading. Ill advised, you might say.
Thanks for the response anyway! Yes I think it may well end up being white tech-shapes with neon coloured glows. The focus is on the performers though, so yes they do need to fit in but I don’t want the graphics to overpower.
So to be more specific then, I’m looking to achieve a sci-fi effect. Glowing, almost blown out whites giving an eerie, incandescent feel. THe performers are going to be shot with neutral lighting (budget limitations), and neutral, black clothing. It would be good if I could almost ‘colorize’ the subjects’ look in different ways. I’ve been experimenting with Levels and Glow and getting some decent results. Any other suggestions?
Many thanks,
Nico

Thanks for the help chaps,
I’ve tracked the corners of the board no problem, I’m just having trouble getting the info onto the corner pin effect.
So what I’m tracking onto the board needs to be the same size as my comp? That might cause issues as the board isn’t ‘comp sized’.
What are the expressions I’d need to use to link the data? I don’t have mocha.
Many thanks,
nj

Hmmm, Invigorator can be a little buggy, but I’ve only had issues when I’ve pushed it to extremes.
If you’re just doing 3D text you should be fine, and you’ll get far more options and control than with the shatter approach.

Great stuff, thanks Chris.
Yeah the WMV was just for approval. TIFFs it is!

Thanks for the help Adam, that’s all a bit beyond me at the moment – I’ll fudge for now then get stuck in properly when I have the time.
Cheers,

That is very cool, and I’ll definitely use that technique somewhere!
But it isn’t quite what I’m after. Here’s my fudged attempt. Copy and paste…

Basically, I’d like the cubes that end up as the graph to come out of the grid of original cubes. Is that do-able? Or do I just have to be more creative with my crossover? 🙂
