I think it might be caused by having 2 layers occupy the same z space?

Try shifting your layers by a pixel or so forward or backwards on the z axis…

How strange…yes I’m using the right one.

The actual transition is smooth, but it’s jumping a few pixels on the frame after the second keyframe. Even though the value is the same…

Maybe something in my setup is awry…

Many thanks for the help, Dan. I can’t seem to get smooth results when applying that expression to my project though – it gives a jagged hit just at as the second keyframe happens. I’ll admit that this expressionis a bit beyond me, so I can’t really make any tweaks myself…

I don’t have the first clue about using those. Guess I have some searching to do, unless anyone would be kind enough to link me to a topic or resource with details…!

Ah yes. That makes perfect sense. I’m out of my depth with expressions too…pickwhipping the odd parameter is about as much as I like to do! To the expressions forum I go.

    Thanks John.

I had the same thought, but it happens even if the frames are eased, and I don’t think it’s the same thing as the boomerang effect.

I can’t use hold keyframes as I need a smooth transition between the frequency keyframes. Thanks for your continuing efforts though!

Thanks guys, but I’m not sure I’m making myself clear! The problem comes when I try to animate the wiggle with sliders. Here’s a project file with the issue clearly happening…

You can see that when the wiggle frequency is animated, the POV goes crazy inbetween the keyframes. It’s this that I’m trying to get rid of…

Indeed…but the judder remains even at the smallest values. Anyone experienced this problem?

Yep, that’s what I’m doing, but when I animate the slider that controls the frequency of the wiggle, I get a massive juddering mess inbetween keyframes instead of a smooth transition. Have you ever experienced that?

Many thanks for the help Adam,

Yep that probably would get me realistic results, but I need total control over the POV to build the animation around.

I’m happy with how the wiggle looks, as I’m not after total realism, but I need to be able to transition smoothly between wiggle frequencies in a single shot…
