Unfortunately, no. Sure would be nice if it worked that way.

You can copy 10.2.2 from the old machine to the new machine and just run that to complete this project. Then migrate yourself over to 10.3 after you’ve had some time to learn it. Ripple Training is excellent for training on this update.

I have a spinning platter Thunderbay and it consistently reads and writes faster than my Pegasus 2. Slows down as it get full like most spinning RAID’s so get the biggest one you can if you choose to go that route. FWIW

  • I suggest you get some training. My preferred training vendor is Ripple Training.

Another good one is Izzy Video. He has a free 2.5 hour online course.

Use Alex 4D’s Sound Only transition to get a cut with an audio crossfade. Expand audio with Control S if you want to adjust the audio i/o points. Select the clips and use Command Option F to apply fades. Or create your own command for Toggle Audio Fade In or Out if that’s what you need. It’s not that difficult nor does it take any significant amount of keystrokes or time.

What Thomas has done is to REALLY LEARN how FCPX works and he leverages that knowledge in everything he does. Anyone can do that if they want to make the commitment to learning the tool as Thomas has instead of focusing on the fact that it doesn’t work exactly as they think it should.

I removed FCPX 10.3.1 with FCS Remover from Digital Rebellion and re-installed from the App Store and so far the interface issues have gone away. FWIW

Some of the interface issues (names disappearing in the browser, settings not sticking etc.) are annoying but the overall editing experience is improved. I find it much faster. I have set up even more key commands now that things got moved around and that increases speed that much more.

This is puzzling. I know how it’s “supposed” to work.

I have done all of the standard troubleshooting and it still doesn’t work with any key combination. The only disclosure triangle in the browser that opens or closes (no matter what modifier keys I use) is the one I click on.

Related functions on my system (i.e.: in Finder etc.) work properly. No issue anywhere else.

I have deleted prefs, re-installed, updated to Sierra, Safe Boot, rama-lama ding-dong…..

Have reported to Apple and will continue to experiment when I get a chance to see if I can come up with anything else. I can only assume it’s a bug at this time.
