My point being that when a Project and Event folder are created in the user folder it is a similar situation to the Documents folder being created when the OS is installed. Text documents will automatically be saved to this folder unless you determine otherwise. So you don’t have to use the Documents folder for documents. With FCP X you can create Project and Event folders on whatever drive you need them to be, for instance on a single external Firewire drive or on a Thunderbolt RAID. They don’t have to be in the user’s Movies folder. Therefore….

If you create a a text document in TextEdit and save it, it will be saved into the Documents folder unless YOU tell it to save somewhere else. The Documents folder doesn’t HAVE to be used and there’s nothing wrong with it sitting there empty. I don’t understand how people see FCP X as any different.

You can. I just did it. Shift-C to go into crop mode and it stays in crop mode until you click on “done” in the upper right hand corner of the viewer.
Also, if you hit shift+cmd+f and then immediately hit the space bar it does not play. You can use the arrow keys to tweak what frame you’re on.

You can do this through the “apply custom name” function. I don’t have time to explain this now but look it up in the docs. I believe they did a show about this on Macbreak Studio also.

John is correct if I understand the issue correctly. Take everything offline with Event Manager X except the event you want to delete. Open FCP X and delete the event. First I would be certain that there is no media in the unwanted event that is being used in the second project.

I have found that if certain background processes are happening I can’t change names in the project library until they finish.
