yes, you CAN override this.
there is check box in one of the Log & Capture tabs,
the main one, i think.dropped frames:

oh, yeah.. the de-interlacing.
you can do that in FCP very well with Nattress Smart De-Interlace
of course you wont be able to see what you are doing with it!
i tend to keep tolerance very low between minimum (2) and 10

n FCP if you want to work in a true Multiclip fashion with stop/start shooting threr are 2 options.
1.
export each track to a new file,
import those files and multiclip.big problem is you lose track of your original TC.
its not impossible to trace it back, but if you are in an off-line on-line situation m then this is really not good for you.
OK if you are working at full res, though.2.
line up all your clips as you have,
go though your timeline, creating a new multiclip each time you have a new clip appear on the timeline.
so you have lots of smaller multiclips.nick

200% for the 48fps
300% for the 72fpsthis will give a playback speed of 24fps. close enough to 23.976.
when you make the speed changes, turn off frame blending.
i wouldn’t be too surprised if some of your stuttering is due to playing Prores4444 clips with effects.

how were the clips captured?
i had a situation once when my DVCProHD, which had been “capture-now” from a telecine chain.
there was a corruption in the TC track.
Vision would slip a few frames on EXPORT (not render)out solution was to batch export the clips as QT movies, same settings.
we may have had to fine tune the TC in Modify TC window.
we had a TC burn in on the colour chart to check against.nick

there is also a plugin from Digital Heaven called DH-Box that could help.

is it self contained?

RT settings need to be set to “unlimited” rather than “Safe”
i cant rembere if that’s in FCP USer Prefs (option Q) or FCP System Settings (Shift Q)reason i cant remember is i always set it the simple way: the RT menu top left of timeline.
