is send to compressor still an export option?
the newer “Share” function can do more and from memory has a better interface.

i use the timeline as a rushes preview & select area.

i edit mainly long form drama, some long form doc.

rushes for a scene are put in a timeline.
i watch the rushes, marking bits i like.
those parts get promoted to V2 & whatever audio tracks (I use a macro to do this, one keystroke and it;s done)

when i have made all my selects, i select all on v2, and edit them all to the end of the timeline (drag/drop into canvas)

now i have a library of “best moments” which i copy and work with.
during the edit, if we ever need to look for other shots, or moments, this library is first port of call, and usually has went we need.
if it doesn’t, i can instantly see way HASNT been selected as all my V2 clips are still in place,
and i can search again.

i can’t stand having to click open each clip just to view & select.
much prefer being able to “skim”
i haven’t used X yet, but the skimming sounds good.

sorry, then i am at a bit of a loss, too.

a clarification:
are you exports cut short, or are they playing out of sync?
if cut short, try adding some slug to the end of the track and re-export.

do you need AIFFs?
can you export as quicktime movie, current settings. audio only?

have you tried copying your timeline into a new sequence and trying the export from there?

in your A/V settings, do you have a 25fps sequence checked as the pre-set?

double check your sequence pre-set

if the frame rate does not match your working sequence, you can have sync issues importing audio.

so you wont be using this material in the on-line?
then it doesn’t really mater what format you use.

i prefer LT. it’s a small file size while still looking good.
proxy looks a little low-res for me,
but i generally need to project my cuts on a screen.

ok, this reminds me of something i had a few years ago where the file did not have a stable TC track.

within FCP sync was fine, any export from a timeline was out.

the solution *from memory* was to batch export the clips, (same settings, self contained)
or maybe Media Manage them using Copy.
sorry i can’t be more precise.

anyway the new files had an OK TC track, and would export properly

the problem started with a not so great “capture now” process direct from a telecine chain.

i don’t think so.

if you tried to keep the SD material “pure” then you’d be in for a lot more time and effort.

i suspect it’s simpler to re-capture as HD through your Kona card,
and down-res the whole show, again though the card.

also you’ll be ready when someone turns around and asks for an HD master.
it’s probably why you’ve been cutting in HD, right?

what format is the problem shot?

maybe it’s a non-FCP standard format like H264.
thy can be unpredictably tricky.

if that’s the case, then export or convert that shot, and re-inert it,
then try exporting.
