Hey,
Duh, I misread your post…sounds like you know how to a simple reveal, you’re looking to do more complex stuff…
I think what you’re looking to do is add points to your mask, you can do this with the pen tool…you add points to the existing mask (or draw out a totally new one), then move your cursor forward and add/remove points or move them around. In the pro bundle (anyone, correct me if i’m wrong) you can set two mask shape keyframes and AE will do some ‘smart interpolation’ in the mask morphing, I haven’t yet used that so I cannot speak for it.

Hey,
Yes, maybe try this little tutorial to get the hang of it:
1. Create a comp
2. add a solid layer
3. hit ‘q’, drag out a mask on your layer in the comp window
4. hit ‘m’ to twirl down the mask on the solid layer
5. click on the Mask shape stop watch to add a keyframe at the current time.
6. move your time cursor forward a few seconds
7. click on Mask 1 in the solid layer to activate the mask
8. go to layer>mask>free transform points, you will see a bounding box around your mask in the comp window.
9. hit ‘v’, drag out one of the sides of the mask’s bounding box, this will add another keyframe in Mask Shape.
10. ram preview…you should see the mask edge move over time.Take care,

Hey,
What version of C4d are you using, what OS, etc… My CE+ crashes all the time on my laptop, but not on my tower…

Hey,
I think that when you tell programs like PS and AE that you want to work at a .9 PAR but display at a 1.0 PAR, you are actually working with non-square pixels. The software is just smart enough to show everything as square pixels while you’re working, but in reality they’re non-square.The real test is to look at your work on a non-square display like a TV or special monitor…if it looks ok, you’re probably doing fine.
There’s a great book by Richard Harrington called ‘Photoshop for Non-Linear Editors’, it does a great job of explaining all the pitfalls of square and non-square pixel problems you might have or worry about…it was one of the first books I bought when I got into doing video stuff with Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere and calmed my nerves after a few reads. It should be required reading for anyone new to video : )

Hey,
Yes!
1. Add a Null Object layer to your timeline.
2. Turn on its 3d switch.
3. Drag your other layers’ ‘parent’ pickwhip onto the Null Object layer. Now, whenever you move the null object, the other layers will move with it while maintaining their position relationship to each other!

Hey,
I’m fairly new to video editing, only seriously got involved about 2 years ago, and I can’t think of any time where I’ve had to worry about PAR; like Hunz said, let the software do the work for you.
Is the PAR thing that everyone talks about a hangover of older softwares, or is my limited experience with only DVD’s and DV tapes not exposed me to potential problems with other formats?

Hey,
I know the animation…
Don’t know how to make the logo ‘move’ across the cube, but you could at least start with the cube part and mess around with it:

Hey,
You could adding a solid black layer on top of your fight layer, add a radio waves effect on it, apply somethinge like glow or shine to it, and animate the radio waves to expand from the source of physical contact outwards. Add some time remap and hold the point of contact for a few frames for added effect.
Did this once to highlight some football players getting tackled and the client REALLY liked it, will be happy to post a small clip of it if you’re interested.

Hey,
The version is called CE+, which is to my understanding a repackaged version of Cinema 4D XL v.6. I just got mine about a month ago for $100 and have been very happy with it. You can’t find any information about it on their website (the link I used to purchase it seems to be dead now), but I’m sure a quick email or phone call to Maxon.net will sort you out.
