Making of Fox logo animation
Posted by Walkingduck on May 10, 2005 at 4:50 amHi folks?
You know the fox log in the orange cube? the cube keeps spinning and the Fox text is being sort of displaced.
I can’t really explain well, but I think you would understand what I’m talking about. Can someone direct a tutorial link explaining that effect or give me some suggestions for that?
Thanks a lot.

May 10, 2005 at 7:42 amHey,
I know the animation…
Don’t know how to make the logo ‘move’ across the cube, but you could at least start with the cube part and mess around with it:

May 10, 2005 at 5:40 pmI think this tut is the most appropriate for what you are attempting to do. Just apply the principles from this to your concept. It all makes sense now. I always knew that had to have been a reflection; I just didn’t know how they did it. Now I do. Maybe I’ll try to do it as well.
Here’s the link; just in case…

May 10, 2005 at 6:30 pmThe Fox logo was actually done using real 3d; in Lightwave and also on the discreet flame; one of my coworkers was previosly at Fox Network Promo. But the possibility of doing it using gobos in AE is interesting!

It’s in the arhives. Search for Fox and select the archives
with no spesific author. I found this both in 2003 and 2004
