Thanks David will do. I’ve saw that a several other people on Blackmagic’s forum have reported similar black thumbnails where there should be footage.
Will investigate further.

Hi Paul,

Thanks very much for your help. No I’m not seeing the markers no matter how much I expand the track.

But here’s what I have discovered: for some reason this only occurs with Sony A7s or XAVC-S files. No problem with my Canon 1DC, C300, GH4 and Quicktime files in general, just seeing this with XAVC-S.

It must be something incompatible between the A7s codec and Prelude-Premiere in terms of markers.

My workaround is to convert the XAVCs files to Apple ProRes even though they’re twice the size. Then the markers show up in Premiere.

I also discovered that if I set tags in Prelude as markers, they retain their color from Prelude into Premiere, just not the default comment and subclass markers.

Thanks very much David will do. I’m actually using Premiere Pro CC 2015 with the new Lumetri Color Panel which seems to be more than enough for my needs as I’m not a professional colorist. Although I’m starting to learn Resolve as well. But I need to contact their Tech Support because all my media clips will instantly go black in Resolve when I open the program. I’ve seen other people report a similar “black clips” issue. Is it a bug?

Thanks very much David. Would the Ultra Studio 3D box from BlackMagic Design be sufficient? It has SDI out/in as well as HDMI and thunderbolt.

I have the older unit.

Thank you all very much for taking the time to explain this in detail to me. My Flanders Scientific LM-1770W monitor is linked to my 2012 iMac via the FS monitor’s DVI port. I have it set to Gamma Select “Film”, Film Gamma 2.0, Color Temperature 6500K, Back Light 60, DVI Pixel Format YCbCr. Not certain if there’s anything wrong in my settings.

Never mind, just solved the problem. I found it in the General Prefs, first section: “Fit Clip Dialog opens for edit range mismatch”. Phew!

I discovered that I actually got the best results with Illustrator’s Curvature Tool. I must say that Adobe’s latest addition to Illustrator – the Curvature Tool – is fantastic. Tracing the signature with the Curvature Tool turned out to be just as accurate and considerably easier for me than using the traditional Pen Tool. I now have an exact replica of the svg signature with a single stroke. I then converted my vector signature to a vector shape in AE and applied a Trim Path, and done! Awesome!!!

OK no luck so far using “Locations” after downloading an equirectangular (2000 x 1000 pixel) map from wikipedi:

Basically all the cities are way way off on the world map, even though I have the correct lat/long coordinates for those cities

Hi Joseph,

Regarding the geo-locations script. Will that work on any map?
Will I be able to add those geotagged locations to any map? Or just the map that might have come with that script? The reason I ask is that I took a modern day world map I downloaded from wikipedia and changed some borders of European states so that it looks like a WWII map of the world.
