I’ll have to check out Alex’s Plugin. It sounds like it could be much easier than fighting with Boris. Boris works but can be finicky.

There is always Boris Title crawl in FCP. I’ve used it in the past with great success.

I agree with the flickering. I was having issues too. But I made it work eventually. IMHO in this situation Motion is kind of limiting the way it works. You have to play with the render settings, and try short tests in your NLE.

On the brightside…drives today are much less costly than they used to be. Plus you’ll have an extra TB drive around for later projects.

And run tests with 5-10 second clips instead of the whole video file. You’ll get quicker results.

I use both. It depends on what I’m doing. I’d say 95% of the time I use the pen or a shortcut. 5% of the time I use the mouse.
