Lots of Wacom users out there, not only for FCP, but Motion and AE, too.

I’m curious if most of you use it like a pen with the screen mapped to your full tablet area or like a mouse with relative movements?

We all use it in regular pen mode here. Using it as a mouse seems to defeat the entire purpose.

    Mouse.

I can’t stand pen mode as it’s never where I need it to be, but that’s just me.

I like to point the device and not have the device point me.

This device has saved me from RSI, no matter what mode you use it.

I use both. It depends on what I’m doing. I’d say 95% of the time I use the pen or a shortcut. 5% of the time I use the mouse.

    I use both.

I use the mouse for most things, & I have the side buttons mapped to be a double click & a sticky click.

I use the pen for a lot of stuff, too. Especially anything involving splines or curves.

Sorry, I think I might have misunderstood. I use the pen in mouse mode.

I use the pen in pen mode. I tried mouse mode and didn’t like it.

Pen in mouse mode with 1 30″ monitor. I find pen mode almost unusable.

Jeremy, I use my cats in dog mode. They greet me at the door, fetch, etc. They’re wireless too!

Is everyone using the Intuos3 or 4? I was going to replace my 3 with the Large 4, but I’m not sure what the new “paper-like” surface of the Intuos4 is like for video editing.
