  • No I wasn’t able to fix it and it never happened again. Sorry you had this problem as well. It appears to be extremely rare and I couldn’t trace down the cause.

    HI Mike,
Did you ever resolve your problem? I just bought a EX1r today and am trying to get the cameras to even see the MxR express card adaptor. I have a SDXC SD card in it, per a recommendation.

  • Hi Christopher,
Thanks for your info. Sorry you had an issue as well. Was your crackling sound like this? https://vimeo.com/31374644

I have suspected that it might have happened because I turned AGC on for the first time, but it had worked without incident for two days, then it happened on the third day of shooting.

I also think it might have been condensation, but if it was, it was a minimal amount of condensation inside the camera.

I haven’t been able to duplicate the issue, which is good and bad I guess. I still use the cam and it is working fine, until the next time it happens! But I have turned the AGC off.

  • Thanks for the input guys. I think it has been fixed.

That’s a good question and might help in solving the issue. I just got the hmc 150 and so far I have deleted the footage from a card reader attached to my mac and then emptying the trash. Is it preferred to delete from the camera?

As for deleting/formatting, i did delete a week ago and formatted a month ago.

Thanks for the resources, I’ll check it out. I’ve actually been on AE since 1998, just needed to find a few things on AE 10.0.1.

I am sorry to sound so ignorant, but what is the “preview panel”? do you mean the timeline? I looked at all the buttons and switches on it and none of them said anything about playing selected work area.

Or do you mean preview pane in preferences that talks about open GL?

  • Thanks Dave, I am downloading updates now. I thought I had, but I only updated the apple products. That was 900 megs, but this adobe update is looking pretty big too for the CS5 production suite.
    Cheers,
    Nic
