Been using a Wacom for years coming off the back off Quantel gear. Used it for all my editing with no issues.
Have you tried restoring the defaults in the Wacom prefs?
Have you changed the Stylus nib at all, should have spares supplied.
Can you try another Stylus to see if it persists?
If the clip has no in points you can use Shift + I to go to the head of clip
Function + Arrow Back will take you to first frame of a clip ignoring any in points -
Happens with every file (tiff, png, animation etc) that has a alpha, whether imported or linked. Can anyone else recreate this?

No. Locking is created when stepping in. When I try to unlock, it offers this advice:

even though it has just locked the track itself!Of course when I open it in the timeline, it won’t display the lock icon or allow me to unlock it. This seems very a strange way to handle layers to me. Anyone else seeing this or offer an explanation why it might do this?
Using 8.7 on OS 10.11.3

Thanks for the reply Glenn. That all makes perfect sense but my problem was having the Alpha locked and unable to alter it in any way. After analysing my workflow, here is the problem:
Dropping a PNG onto the timeline and stepping into it reveals that the alpha is locked (and displays with a locked icon).

It will remain locked no matter what I try. If I step out and double click it the alpha is still locked (but no lock icon)
No such problems if you double clicking and add fx to both layers in the timeline. However, If you add Fx to the fill or alpha and then step in then it becomes locked and unchangeable. Also, back in the timeline, there is no lock icon to warn you it is locked.

Annoying! -

Solved! It’s a timeline setting. Show effects contents. Which it doesn’t.

Perfect, thanks Shane. It’s all coming back verrrry slowwwwwly!!

Thanks Shane. All drivers up to date and no other issues outside Avid.
The problem disappears when using another user log in so I’m guessing it is user settings
related. -

We had a very similar problem that we traced to the Avid Application Manager.
Avid Application Manager was taking up huge amounts of CPU for some reason. An App Manager reinstall cured it. -
I was key-framing just the title so promoting to 3D gives me many more options, thanks for the tip John!
My problem still remains that I want to animate the titles together. If I ‘collapse’ the 3 titles into a submaster, can I then keyframe them as a single layer?
I’m using titles as an example but the same would apply to any image with alphas, i.e. logos etc…
