  • Keyframing text in MC 8.4

Back on MC after a substantial time away and this has me flummoxed!!
I’ve created three titles in Title Tool and need to animate them globally over 75 frames
Whichever way I tackle it, I can’t seem to KF them without affecting my BG layer.

    Any advice appreciated!

Promote the title to 3D (button in lower right of effect editor). You should be able to key frame movement without affecting the background after that.
NewBlue Titler, Marquee and Avid FX offer more sophisticated animation ability than the basic titler, which is vintage 1998, if you are not getting satisfactory results.

I was key-framing just the title so promoting to 3D gives me many more options, thanks for the tip John!
My problem still remains that I want to animate the titles together. If I ‘collapse’ the 3 titles into a submaster, can I then keyframe them as a single layer?
I’m using titles as an example but the same would apply to any image with alphas, i.e. logos etc…
