I used to get this error from time to time and found that when it occured if I saved my project to the desktop and worked with it from there all would be OK. Not at all defininitive or scientific I know but it worked for me.
One thing I would suggest is that you upgrade to version 7.03 as 7.0 was pretty buggy in various ways.
The ProApps update for it is still available on Apples website.
I use 7.03 and have not had that error in a couple of years now.Perhaps best to do it after you finish this current project though.

Probably the commonest reason for this error is that you have used stills in your sequence that are over 4K in size.
If that is the case use Photoshop (or your favourite picture editor) to reduce the size of the stills down to less than 4000 pixels and you should find the out of memory error goes away.

If you are editing in FCP then its usually easier to deal with the Red files either transcoding them with the log and transfer tool in FCP.
Or using the RedCine X tool which you can download free from the Red website.In order to use the log and transfer tool or to get RedCine you must download and install the files you need available here https://www.red.com/support/all/downloads
FCP Studio Installer adds the ability to transcode via L&T
RedCineX converts to QT independently of FCP
The file structure as recorded by the camera must be complete for this to work.
Its possible you have files on a PC formatted Fat 32 drive which could be why you are seeing what sounds like spanned files.
As long as you have everythig as recorded you should be OK – if the files have been removed from the original folders you may have problems.

For smooth video playback, broadly speaking, the faster your hard drives the better.
USB is not really up to video playback. Firewire 800 with 7200 rpm drives is about the minimum spec you should go for.best wishes

Certainly FCP will usually recognise all codecs except DV based ones as upper field dominant and that is correct. DV is the only codec that is lower field dominant.
For instance, if you were to edit a DV file into a ProRes sequence then the field dominance would be reversed and it would become upper field dominant. I believe the same is true of H264 or indeed any other non DV based codec.

I can help you with the .srt part but not the 3D part.
i used a subtitle tool on a clients machine a few weeks ago which could do various formats including .srt
I have just found a link here https://www.jubler.org/download/index.php
and discovered it is freeware with a suggested donation.Best check the 3D part but if they have requested a .srt file then that is really just a specific text format layout that they would recreate the subtitles from so you may not need to do anymore.
Essentially its just a list of timecode ins and outs and the text required. So you can use the titles created by your editor as a guide.best wishes

The reason is that DV based codecs are the only ones with lower field dominance. So when you tanscode to H264 it is no longer DV which is why when you bring and H264 Quicktime into FCP it is not lower field dominant.
Where are you submitting an H264 file for TX – are you UK based ?best wishes

It sounds like you may have a combination of minor erors here.
If you have HDV footage and you are using firewire then you should use the HDV easy set up and not the DV one.
Next make sure that the deck is not set to down convert HDV to DVCam or DV.
I think this is on the iLink setting of the output menu but I am not totally familiar witht htat deck but thats the usual protocol for Sony decks.Once you have the deck in HDV format and the HDV easy set up selected you should find all will be OK

It sounds like you may have created a QT reference movie rather than a self contained one.
When you export make sure the self contained option is set.
Should then see a movie file of the correct size.best wishes
