1)Copy the section of video to be blurred, put it on the track above. (must be aligned perfectly)
2)insert blur video fx on top layer
3)insert cookie cutter video fx on top layer.
4)the Center “cookie” area should now be blurred.
    5) Adjust sizing, edge softness as well as motion with the key frames from within the cookie fx window.

    Good luck

    Vegas 6d is rock solid.
I think with an open mind willing to learn a different workflow…you will be amazed at how intuitive vegas really is.
Tools are where you’d expect them to be…everything is never more than 2 clicks away.
Let the program show you how to be efficient. Less time fussing and more time creating.
Many diehard avid, premiere friends of mine are using Vegas more and more for its fast (and pro) results.
The “Click count” is far less than competitors for the same result.!!! Almost 4 to 1
as we say in the audio world.
    “Are you mixing or fixing?”

Make the move …you wont regret it.

September 22, 2007 at 4:57 am in reply to: Anyone using the Edirol R-4 Pro?

I would take all 8 channels and put them into a audio mixer where the levels can be controlled properly and easily then send the outputs to a camera via line level.
use the aux sends to build another mix and send to another camera as a vid/audio locked backup.
Use a slate clappord (or a handclap) at the beginning that all cameras cans see and call it a day.
We’ve done a lot of shoots this way without any hiccups.

The beauty of an audio mixer allows compressors and limiters
to be inserted on channels prior to the camera input.

September 22, 2007 at 4:44 am in reply to: OT: Going Rate for shooting outdoor event video ?

I charge $100/hr for onsite videography where I have to make something out of nothing.
If all their ducks are in a row and controlled conditions then I’ll bargain for $75.
However I’ll offer a special rate/deal to help get all their ducks in a row. (logistics coordinator, site director, site survey)
    In my experience…
If you look, act like you have your S**T together then no-one will balk at $75-$100/ hr.
(of course make sure you have your S**T together)

  • If you hold control then click/drag the text event to a new location it will choose a “referance to the old one”
    or “copy the source media”.
choose “copy”. This way they are treated seperately.
    good luck.

    hey laura !!!
How did you ever end up doing the milking machine project.?

    (I think that was you)

  • so….
You have been successful using Vegas with a HUI device thru MCU.
As well as the various other protocols along the way.?

Anything I should be on the lookout for or quirks I may run into.
    Thanks once again.

  • Thanks for the quick reply.
However. The rep stated that the mixer used “HUI” protocol.
    (Human User Interface)
Which is the older Mackie protocol. I’m trying to find out if this older HUI is covered or “mixed” in with the newer “Mackie Universal Control”

    See my dilemna ?
    Thank you again
