[Lemur Hayop] “Some users will obviously be upset with LPX, especially electonica musicians who are hoping for an upgrade, not a dumb down. Perhaps the most to benefit will be FCPX users if LPX is integrated. “

do say this cause you know theve changed it dramatically? or speculation?

IMO electronic musicians are the only oneswho benefit from Logic..in that category is scoring/sound design

people who are seriuos about mixing audio, and recording usunally dont use Logic, so theyd be alienating there only customers.

theyve already simplified the program so much since theyve taken it over from emagic, theres not much you can do else to it.

  • great, thanks everyone!
so messing with all these versions wont efect my ability to go back to avid ?

  • Pardon my ignorance, finally coming over from Color..where is this option to unlink? I odnt see it in a menu or anything.

I see how to make a version 2 for each clip individually which seems to do the trick but is there a way i can do that for every clip on the timeline at once?

Also will this technique of making new versions, effect my ability to re-link in media composer later for finishing?

so in software mode things are fast ? hasnt that always been the case ? You said things are snappier with blackmagic i/o.. how is that the same as software mode?

Im not the only one that has a rocky road with Black Magic and Media Composer, its all over the avid forums.

Things felt most solid with 6.0.3 and desktop video 9.5.3

what combo of software are you using to get fast response with black magic hardware , because you might be the only person out there who is seeing good results ?

    Regarding Black Magic I/O

what driver are you using, cuase with 9.5.3 things are pretty bad on 6.5

works ok in 6.0.3 still not nearly as snappy as is in SW only wide.

This is a big step back imo.

whats the fast scrub bug with bm i/o? and what drivers are you using for it? im on desktop video 9.5.3 which were the most solid for me on 6.0.3

the only thing holding me back from jumping in is the compatibility with Black Magic. The current combo of sw/drivers im using now is the best its been, so unless its indeed better im gonna stick with this for now.

  • The only ones that show up are designer transitions, dissolves, and DVE effects.

Everything else i.e., glows, lights, swishpans, etc are gone.

Drop an avid fx filter on the uoper clip, then play with blending modes there. Not realtime but works and with way more options than fcp.
