  • Automatic adjustments to clips from same take? Can i turn this off?

I imported an AAF from Media Composer.

Alot of the clips were subclipped out from the same takes so when I go to color page and start to do a primary on the first clip, the rest of the clips on the timeline from that take are changing too. Can i turn this behavior off?

[Neil Goodman] “. Can i turn this behavior off?”

Yes its an “unlink” behaviour, or create local/remote versions.

Pardon my ignorance, finally coming over from Color..where is this option to unlink? I odnt see it in a menu or anything.

I see how to make a version 2 for each clip individually which seems to do the trick but is there a way i can do that for every clip on the timeline at once?

Also will this technique of making new versions, effect my ability to re-link in media composer later for finishing?

The option is still there, but I just found out that they’ve changed the name… Couldnt find it either!

Anyway, it’s still under the menu when you rightclick a thumbnail in the timeline and it’s called: use local grades. But this will delete any grades you might have done. ‘copy remote grades to local’ will keep the grades but break the linking.

    Good luck

Using versions is a bit more house keeping but gives you way more options within a grading session.
