If you click and hold on the eraser tool it will give you a pop up of the different eraser tools, from there you can see if you have the regular eraser or something else. The settings then will appear at the top of the screen right under “file, edit, image, etc”. Also make sure you have only the layer you want to erase selected in the layers palette and that its not locked to any other layer. That should do it.

There are a couple things here. 1st if you want to get rid of the whole layer you can just drag it from the palette into the trash. 2nd you want to make sure your eraser settings are set so that they don’t erase more than the selected layer. Also make sure you are using the normal eraser tool, not the background eraser or magic eraser.

No problem.
So when you go to file->print you should see a preview on the left and then lots of options on the right. Make sure to click on available buttons like “preferences” or “settings” or whatever they may be. Also remember you have settings for the printer as well. Make sure you have the right paper settings selected in the photoshop dialog and the printer dialog. If you go through the buttons and the drop down menus you should be able to find all the settings you need.

I’d check Alienware they make PCs for gamers mostly but usually pack their stuff full of cool graphics chips and fast processors. While they are made by dell, they are known to be more dependable.

April 23, 2010 at 6:26 pm in reply to: RAW Conversion with Digital Photo Professional into Photoshop CS2I think this is something you’re just going to have to deal with once its in photoshop. Different programs read files a little differently sometimes. Also there is a free update to camera raw that includes the Canon 50D. I have elements 6 and it worked for me (i also shoot with a 50D). Its available on the adobe website or you can just follow the link below. Scroll down to cs2.

Its locked as the background. Double click on the layer in the palette and it will ask you to rename it, probably “layer 0”. Then you are good to go.

if you are running full photoshop I would suggest using a layer mask to select out the floor. Or you could overlap the hard wood picture with the room picture and erase out the floor of the room exposing the hard wood picture layer beneath.

You might have the erase to history box checked. Its in the tool bar all the way to the right.

I would check the layers first. I always catch myself trying to work on layers that are not in view or are buried. Next I would check the text tool properties, Maybe you have a weird font or background color setting or something like that.
