A typical round-trip to audio post is to export an OMF file from your sequence and then open that in Audition. This will create an audio clip for each edit in your timeline as well as a multitrack session.

Hey, I’m having a similar frustration.
Just curious, are you using the lens that came with the FS-100? Have you tried other lenses? -
What is your budget?
I’ve had good success with the Zoom H2 ($130) , Zoom H4N ($300), and the Tascam DR-100 ($290). I switched to the H4N because of the XLR inputs. Totally worth it. I use the Tascam too. It’s is a bit bulky, but the volume controls are easier and the options for powering it are fantastic.
Just as important is the mic. You could spend a couple hundred to get started, but honestly the Sennheiser G3 lavs and a good shotgun mic (around $600 each) are well worth it.

On a full-size keyboard the shortcut is the “0” key on the numeric keypad. On my PowerBook, it is the same, but I have to use the “fn” key to get to the numeric keypad. So, in my case, fn + M (M being the 0 on the numeric keypad) does the trick.
I guess, depending on how many short-cut keys you used, you could leave the Number Lock on and eliminate having to hold down the “fn” key.

Maybe someone else has something more current. But this article does a good job explaining a good method for going from FCP to AE and back.

Maybe check the blending modes. Flattening your Photoshop image before importing might help too.
Also, for a great, concise explanation of importing Photoshop files into FCP see Volume I, page 384 of the FCP manual. Hey, there’s even a couple illustrations. 🙂

In Photoshop, right click on the little “f” (indicates effect) circle of the layer that has the layer effects (bevel, stroke, outer glow).
In the long list of options there will be an option towards the bottom called “Create Layer.” This will create a layer for each of the layer effects applied to that layer.
The PSD should now import into FCP with those effects visible.

There may be other factors involved (nature of the project, deadlines, machine power), but as a general rule, keep the whole project at as high a quality as possible for as long as possible. I would probably keep the project at 1080i (FCP and Motion) until exporting to the DVD. This allows for the most distribution options in the futrue (like HD-DVD…).

FILE > SAVE FOR THE WEB is a good way to save your image as a JPEG (or GIF or PNG).
That said, you should still be able to do a “Save As” to the image. Check IMAGE > MODE and make sure that the color space is set to “RGB Color.” This will allow the most “Save As” options.
