I’m having the same problem on a Snow Leopard system, but I’m having a lot of trouble finding that firmware upgrade for Mac, don’t suppose you remember where you got it from?

Alright, I feel a little silly. After I looked a little more in depth at the actual folders, I found a bunch of Quicktimes in the second wrapper.

I did try to use Detect Displays, but the results were the same. As for the apple adapter you mention in a later post, my laptop only has Mini-Display out, no Mini-DVI. I think that the white 13″ are the only ones that have the Mini-DVI port now, and all the Macbook pros have Mini-Display.

I realize this is an old thread but hopefully this reply will help someone somewhere.

During the time of CS4 an upgrade that helped fix this problem was released from Video Copilot, it’s available from the website.

Other things to try are disabling your GPU rendering (this is found under the options for your Optical Flares in File > Preferences) and deleting a preset called Evening Sun.ofp from Optical Flares Presets > Lens Flares.

I had the same issue and doing all of this corrected it. If you purchased the Optical Flares bundle, and still have problems, e-mail tech support, they got back to me even on the weekend.
