Okay, I found QT 7.3 here:

I used Pacifist to remove 7.3.1 and replaced with 7.3. I now have the EXACT version of QT installed required by avid. I restarted my mac, opened my project, opened my capture tool loaded the HDV tape and attempted to capture a clip.

Underneath that is another “download quicktime” link, and when you hit that it takes you to the QT 7.4.5 download page.

I have been all over Apple’s website. I have found 6.5.2, 6.5.3, 7.1.6, 7.2, and then it jumps to 7.3.1–which is what I have. Is there someplace I haven’t found yet that has 7.3 available for download?

I should point out that the video appears in my composer window as it should. I can mark in and out points in my capture tool just like any other tape. I can fast forward rewind and watch he HDV video on my monitor just fine. But when I try to capture I get the same error message every time.

Quicktime 7.3.1 and using a Sony HVR M15U

I’m using AXP5.8–which I understand is the latest and last. But AXP will not run on QT 7.4 it has to run on 7.3. Will the latest version of FCP run on 7.3? I obviously can upgrade once I purge my system of AXP, but that would be a few months down the road.

Okay the above is partly true. If I go to another sequence, another application, add or delete anything to that sequence, or if I just stare at it long enough, the effect will somehow “un-render” itself.

If I go into the effect editor and click on the “render” icon at the lower left, the effect renders fine. Does this make any sense to anyone?
“Render in to out” does not work.
“Render Effect” on my tool bar does not work.
“Render Effect” hot key I placed on F1 does not work.The icon inside the effect editor renders it fine. Why does this make a difference?

Sorry, I don’t mean to sound dense, but I can’t find any information regarding this in the manual…how do you change the sphere to a plane???
