Victor, for all the details do a search on Blue ray…
Basically you can install the Pioneer Blu Ray burner, but the Mac will treat it like a DVD burner, You will need Toast 9 or Encore to burn Blue Ray. And Apple does not support play back of Blu Ray movies, yet.
So get a player also…

What is the url to the fix on Apples web site? I would like to add it to my Mac Medicine Cabinet. Just incase my Mac gets the “locked” disease.
Did you have to remove “Mobile Me”? or revert the system HD to earlier version?

I purchased the SIIG PCMCIA to USB external adaptor and tried exactly what you are attempting with the PCIe buss version,,,, it didn’t work,,, and I want my 30 bucks for dinner…

They would be the ones to watch, when it comes to who will be the first with a inexpensive P2 card reader for the desk top.

Shane, Have you used Instant HD from Red Giant… How does it compare to the Kona3 or other software based Uprez..
I am trying not to spend 3k on the Kona 3 card yet and I have about 10 seconds of client animation -flying logos – to upconvert for their TV spots…
Any software uprez to HD experience that you thought looked better than expected??

To further the scope of this conversation,,, Will my NTSC SD scopes work just as well for my HD video on a down converted signal?? It is a good Videotech Composite scope. I do not know if a SD letterbox down converted signal would loose anything that would make the SD scope unreliable..

There is always a chance of blowing a channel when plugging gear together… Read the manuals and hire a qualified sound guy..
I watched a friend with 30 years in video blow a channel of his DVCPro deck when he plugged in the audio feed from the sound guy, who was on another contract and boss, claim everything was ok before he had the mics and the speakers feeds all tweaked…

I have keyed out the offending washed out sky and replaced it with beautiful fluffy clouds photographed at 50,000 feet…. or I have heard that Graem Natress (forgive my spelling) has a filter set that cures your problem by using the blue and red channels to remake the lost info in the green-luminance channel.
Do a search, I read those details within the last three months on this forum..
