Having the same issue with the crash message. Using quads, and I’ve tried the AjA bundle on 7.1, 7.5, and 8. Happens every time I use Log and Transfer.

same problem, the capture defaults to the previous setting and won’t return a PAL file and there is generally distortion or interference on the capture window, causing an unusable capture.

I simply wanted it noted that all proper drivers are installed, and some firewire components are included in the AJA driver pack.

What you suggest works perfectly, unless, as I stated, You attempt to go PAL. The only device control presets in FCP are for Firewire when it comes to PAL, and yes, I’ve tried going SDI with it, the final capture won’t encode to PAL. It defaults to the last used capture setting.

I should also note that I’ve installed the latest AJA drivers, and re-installed both Quicktimes.

Apologies, I should have specified that I’m trying to do a live capture directly to the tower, NOT simply getting media clips.

I’ve tried mounting data from an external SATA drive, from the tower itself, as well as RAID server, and they all encounter the same error.

I’m encountering a similar issue with all of my file based media, P2 and XDCAM alike. Whenever I attempt to load a folder of data I get the same unexpectedly quit message.

I can view the footage fine in P2 CMS and XDCAM Transfer, but Log and Transfer fails. I don’t mind using XDCAM Transfer, however I need to batches to reconnect media which I need log and transfer to do.

Sorry, fixed the problem. When you install the new driver you have to go into FCP’s AV settings and reset it to AJA Kona. I should’ve thought of that originally.

    Hi,

I’m trying the same thing, downloaded the drivers and all that jazz. I’ve got the desktop to display, but now I’ve lost all video preview from FCP, even when I turn the control back to test pattern. Any suggestions?

Worked like a charm. Links on that page helped me fix a couple other things too. Thanks a million!
