  • Don’t know if Im getting the image of what you are trying to do but… why don’t you try by using a .psd mask?

Or maybe you need to do another layer just with the mask and try to using the CC in the layer.

Certainly not, but do I ask to a music engineer what software he uses to record and mix music. In fact… if I’m gonna hire someone, I need to know if he knows to work in the software I have.

Here, where I work now, the video editors (as in every place I suppose) must pass a test in vegas. If I want to work in some other place surely I should pass a test too… but what can I do if I just don´t have a mac or dont use any of those softwares at all.

That’s why Im asking about vegas in the labor market.

Now I work in a local University editing classes and conferences in Vegas. But here (I live in Guatemala) local TV Channels and video production companies work mostly in mac. I would like to leave my country someday and maybe find a job on video production or video editing and as I see, outside this frontiers is almost the same, companies use other video editing software.

I’ll search other forums for sure, thanks for answering.

Thanks, I learned about tne AMA. I just like to put the media files from the original folder to the timeline quick but I guess AVID has its own way… I will keep on woriking on it and see what happens. One thing is for sure, the system requirements are too high, the same happends with Adobe Premiere, and no matter how “heavey” your machine is… if Windows is running… mmm good luck!!

    Thank you everyone!!

Thanks for the answers. I downloaded the trial. I tried to import an avi file and now Im doing the same with a .mov from a Canon 7 D camera. Don´t understand why avid takes so long to put those files in the timeline.

I have a metal band… and we recorded a metal album using garage band… and Im someone who is seriously thinkin’ in having a Mac as a next computer… and YES… this was by using mac products… because YES… they are not that hard to use as some people might think.

Did you ever think that maybe it’s the Mac people who won’t let them do this?

Yes, I wrote it in the opening question of this forum.

I know a lot of Mac users that would love the Vegas enviroment… nowadays a lot of proffesionals who work with audio, video and photography use mac system… I understand about the costs and everything but come on… we are talking about SONY… I think they can!!

And even when users of Windows make a big difference… the world of mac users is not small at all.

    My point of view.

    Thanks.

Hey, thanks for the answer… That surely is a good reason, the .net framework and things like that… but Is strange Sony has not made something yet to have that amazing software running on a mac.

Hope someday this change… Its important nowadays to have a software like the ones from Sony in both systems.
