You can undock it like any other panel and move it to wherever you think it’s best for you.

[spaceman] “SPACEMAN suggests you create your preferred left-right square wipe as a separate comp and use it as
a track matte for you logo layer.”

Why so difficult? Card Wipe or Block Dissolve are all you need.

Effects work on flattened (2D) buffers, not 3D layers/ objects. If you apply an effect to a collapsed layer, you force AE to ignore all folded 3D properties and thus it will pop out of place (it is mathematically correctly in the same place, but AE does no longer calculate perspective because it treats it like a flat plane). You only alternatives are to pre-comp again or apply your tint on an adjustment layer.

Make sure you have the latest version of Shine. This problem is known and has been rectified.

Create your outlines as a mask on a solid, apply the Stroke effect and in addition to that the Glow effect. Yes, you can turn your llayer also into a 3D layer in which case I suggest you apply the Glow to an adjustment layer on top of your other layers for a more realistic look.

June 12, 2006 at 7:17 pm in reply to: RAM preview wont play all frames

Umm, guess why it’s called RAM preview? 1 Gig levels out to about 45 secs of preview time at full resolution at best. Lower your comp resolution to half or quarter and try it again. Since AE will calculate less pixels per frame, many more frames fit into your RAM and thus you may be able to preview much larger chunks (not necessarily your entire timeline).

[Noh Sound] “In the time line window next to the layers QT symbol is another symbol I’m not familiar with, it’s looks like a Green sqare with a double line border. All the layers that do not render have this symbol.”

They are guide layers and not supposed to render. They are unly used as reference while working. Just turn them back into normal layers and they will render or ovverride the corresponding setting on the render queue.

Assuming you used the “Audio to Keyframes” keyframe assistant, this will work:

    [position[0],thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Left Channel”)(“Slider”)]
