nevermind the Lide 70 has an updated driver, but the LiDE 30 still does not. I think I read something about opening in Rosetta and you can make it work.

I started a new thread with pictures of the exact problem we’re seeing. We’re running on FCP 5.1.4 and I’m having problems on a new project that was imported entirely in this version of FCP.

Yeah we thought about the “putting the clips in the timeline and exporting” option but we have Teras of HD 720p60 footage and also if there was a crash we wouldn’t be reconnecting to the P2/Firestore originals but files that essentially don’t exist and would have to be re-created. I’ll have to look around for those settings windows 🙁

But what about when using them with FCP and it imports them as Quciktime files. Is there a setting I can do that will tell FCP I want the clips stitched together?

Does that go the same for shooting straight to the FS-100 FireStore drives? Or are there certain settings we need to apply for that to come through the firewire? I know when we use the FireStore currently it set up in a way where we use the controls on the FS-100 for start/stop recording instead of the HVX’s record button. Is there a different way we should be running our setup?

I’m not sure why you’d want to deal with the mxf files? It seems like a hassle to have to keep the contents folder intact and can’t rename your files. Why would you want this when you can have a nice self contained full quality quicktime file. Sure it takes time to import but it’s worth it no?

April 3, 2007 at 5:37 pm in reply to: HD 720p60 to a SD DVD???

yeah it worked fine, but I need a window burn that references the 60p time code. the Compresssor conversion interlaced the frames downa and my window burn frame digits are half the number from one frame and half from another. We need to send transcribers the footage with a window burn with the 60p time code so that their logs will be useable when we go to edit.

I guess the only way to do it is send them a Data DVD-R and they can just transcribe out of quicktime?

So I’m doing it this way but encountering a problem on the final output. The sposts where I change the horizontal are jarring. It’s on the cuts as I’m adjusting each shot serpately, key framing the horizontal point at the beginning and end of the shot (so it doesn’t tween the point in between the current shot and the next. But there’s a noticable jump on the final output?)

the footage was shot in 4:3 letterboxed to 16:9, so I have to blow up either way.

Also, why deinterlace first? The final output will be interlaced anyways? And won’t the conversion back and forth between interlaced, de-interlaced, back to interlaced affect the quality?
