I’ll try that for now. And maybe I just have to buy a descent videocard/software!? I did managed to come around the problem by using Windows Movie Maker to produce a (raw) AVI file – but that’s to many steps for a little procedure…

Still not…

I have tried to download the proper codec, but I haven’t managed to make it work. Could you give me a direct link to a vfw-codec, that will work?

(I have some videoclips, where GSpot says, no codec are needed (YUY2), but Vegas will not show, the same with DivX movieclip in Vegas)

I downloaded the GSpot, and downloaded missing codecs on my new computer. THOUGH the Gspot tells me on a given videoclip that I have installed the needed codec (and GSpot will render succesfully) I’m still not able to open the same video-clip in Vegas! (only sound). Should I somehow make a specific installing for codecs in Vegas? Or what is tricking me?

thanks… I found that it works whenever the position is center left (or left botton/top)… but I actually wanted a specific position in the right side (and here my only option will be “Free Form”…), and then I’m still left with the aligning problem…

To adjust every textbox using P/C would be fairly complicated as I’m going to have hundreds of words! But is that the only option then?

Well that may be the best option in my situation.

Off cause… I don’t have an extern dvd-player, but that’s pretty cheap these days – and that will give me the best editable format with subtitles…

I didn’t know I was actually able to open the dvd (vts_ifo and vts_vob) right into Vegas, but unfortunately it wont bring me the subtitles… (and it makes editing slow because it’s not on the HD)

and…

When I try to import through ‘dvd camcorder disc’ I’m not able to choose the specific file, only, say D: “dvd-title” and all I get then are the trailers and stuff before the actually movie. (though I was able to choose in the “video_ts directory” I think I would miss my subtitles still!?)

What I can do, though, is to ‘open’ the sound-file and use together with my DivX-file (including subtitle) – but it’s still a long way.

Did I do something wrong or will there be a third way (I just need subtitles in my danish context)

Being lazy I would avoid doing the way you suggest, Peter – but I probably end up doing it that way. Being lazy it will also cause me tears to go through the proces with VirtualDub etc. as Rob suggest, but if I end up finding an easier to produce/generate subtitles, it’s worth – IF the easier way exist! (without DVDa etc. I’ll find out now) – that’s why I posted this in the first place.

And it’s correct. I want to make permenant subtitles on a short movie which will be rendered as wmv.
