Compressor is not working for me right now, so I just export a fully rendered reference file from FCP. I’m burning with iDVD at “Best Quality” setting. If I play the file (before burning) it’s all fine and dandy, but the burned disk displays the problems I’ve mentioned.

Arnie, I went through the process that you suggested last night. It didn’t work either. (which is why I came crying to The Cow)
I guess, ultimately, if I’m not sacrificing quality I will continue using QuickTime and some of suggestions you folks have given. Still gotta figure out that tearing however…

I took the tape and inserted black all the way through. Had no problems digitizing thereafter. It a miracle! But seriously, I find it odd that garbage video would cause audio digitizing problem despite the presence of consistent timecode??!!?

Hey, thanks for the lively discussion gentlemen. I will try the “capture now” and if all else fails, dub it to another tape and add a stable video signal.… ever forward

I’m running a Rourke Data setup using Cheetah drives. Just used the ATTO Config Tool and got it to mount… then it went away again. While it was mounted, I ran Disk Warrior on it. Restart gave me the drives back again, then I had to bail for a while. Will check it out this evening.

Almost two years without a rebuild. I guess that would put me a little behind the norm. Does Ken Stone or someone out there have a step-by-step to guide me? What about all my plugins and add-ons? I do have all software nice and legal like, but the downloads?
