It may feel whatever but in reality it is fewer steps than what you propose. I can do match frame/speed change from a keyboard. What you want would force me to use a mouse. What you want would also force me to look at the interface instead of looking at the picture I cut.

To make a correct 25 fps EDL from 24 fps sequence you had to conform in FCP, not in Cinema Tools. Relog, recapture, reconform, recreate the cut.

Save as Cineons and batch rename if you really need .dpx extension.

Clicking on a clip just because it contains some frames you want to use is a bad habit. Command-Shift-A to deselect.

Set IN/OUT on the timeline. Copy.

Cinema Tools doesn’t support 2 perf. In your scenario it isn’t a problem, because for DI you should be fine with EDL instead of cut list. Most scanners support 2 perf. Just make sure you set up FCP for 24@25 timecode and conform all your footage from 25 fps to 24 in FCP project, not in Cinema Tools.

It does. Default settings are for new records, created by a user.

Tapes the footage was actually captured from. In your case – DVCAM downconverts, so 30.

While you can slip, slide, roll and ripple without stopping playback in FCP the development team must finally get a simple idea that playback must absolutely not stop unless an editor hits stop.
