How about micro 4/3 lenses? Arent they close enough? Or maybe old Arri 16 mm – you can find some decent ones – does any one will it be possible?

power is the least problem – main is that tiny sensor – of course, you could look for old 16mm lens and get them to work through various adapters but I think that @ this point fs 700 is waaay more into me than this. XLR, SDI – you name it. And it has super 35 mm sensor AND 4k ready. I guess BMDcam is a step in right direction but I m still holdnig to my ex1r and 60d

OK – I was using FCS 3 for last two years. I bought MC 5.5 during cheap 999$ cross grade in october and, to be honest, I learned (poorly) it but was doing all of my editing in FCP 7. When I got a new macbook i also got mc 6.01. After one test job (paid) all I can say is that is vastly superior to FCS7 (speed, format acceptance through AMA). After about an hour of basic tutorials I was able to edit normal 5 min job for nationwide broadcaster. I tried to use FCPX but is counterintuitive ( And I was a real AVID hater! )and difficult in basic editing. Also the way it hadles media is really annoying. It is neither precise nor fast and ALSO it handles h264 far less efficently than MC 6.01. The only thing that is really well played from apple side is the new motion – I use it for titles and simple ADs – it`s perfect. That said (and me being all for apple products guy) I cant find any uses for FCPX – maybe in 4 k editing but I m not doing any …

Well – I`m all for simplicity and ease of usage – I find none of that in FCPX (I`m toying wiht trial 10.3. right now). Final Cut pro is fading away from professional film studios, at least in my country.Personally, I`m so glad that I made a switch to AVID thanks to its cross grade sale. And if FCPX will develop – that`s good for a competition and I`m planning to include that in my company computer – I think it might be great for short DSLR jobs.

Well – the Big Question is : Are they going to drop express slot (pretty much the only reason to buy it in the first place) ? I guess It might not fit into new paradigm. Well If so : It`s off to PC for me…

Express card is not working? This is so stupid concernig that I use it as a port for sata raid system AND possible external monitoring! Great!
If express slot is removed from MacBooks I will no longer consider it. Right now I have a i7 2010 17“ wich is extremly handy with sony xdcam sxs cards. Without that slot I pretty much … well you name it.
