IT seems that motion 5 works as a workaround – importing, retiming and sending to prores.

OK – GoPro studio wont help beacuse (as i read) it only accepts h264. Where XAVC-S is mutated avchd

It seems so! But how can I transcode 120 fps file ? Is it even possible? I transcoded sonys mp4 with squezze into prores, retaining s-log 2 25/fps. But 50p and 100p (or 120p) is beyond usage in avid? I had bunch of fast footage (red epic, f5, go pro etc) and never had any issues with avid. XAVC-s is a lighter version of f5 XAVC codec.

Yup – I just ingested via AMA f5 footage and XAVC f5 footage. It works. XDCAM works as always…

I cut a multicam weekly show (25+ min) on four XDCAM EX cameras and since I finish around 11 and broadcast is on 18 you can say Im on a tight timeline. And I do it entirely on AMA – sometimes I dont transcode – just render titles and send it do XDCAM deck via blackmagic ultrastudio (whole thing happens on laptop). Just tried to cut a 1:30 showreel on ama with multiple mp4 and h264 – a horrid experience – I had to do a rough cut – it was all on external firewire 400 disk but still – a XDCAM works quite well from that redundant drive. My point is – h264 is really tricky to work on in avid AMA… I wouldnt do that

No it isn’t. In europe is 500 euro (quite a lot if you ask me )

  • You could try to reinstall MC . Helped me with same issue. Does it activate properly on Mac? If the license is alteady in use for some reason you might have to contact Avid support .

even though 20 mm from a decent 10 mm lenses should be sufficent in most cases ( correct me if I`m wrong but BMDcam is 2x crop, isnt?)

Curses – it was too good to be true though… I`m keen on second gen though – just like it was with intesity shuttle – first gen ucompressed 10 bit only but in second you could record with avid codec. I hope it will happen to BMDcam : PL mount or micro 4/3 mount (Nokton F0,95/17,5 mm anyone?)
