I use it and I find it very useful. I like the feature where I can go frame by frame using the jog wheel. I rarely use the keyboard and heavily rely on the Shuttle Pro.

  • I have a jpg file of my business logo and some wording that I put in the lower right corner of the video, like an overlay. The glitching that I get is that the logo shows as full screen in black at times. To fix it, I normally close down Vegas and re-open. Normally that clears up the glitching.

Is there any explanation for why this happens?

  • I don’t use any third party plug-ins beside Ultimate S Pro. I don’t believe that should affect anything.

There are no effects on the video.

  • Hi Mark,

What is the exact brand and model for the graphics card that you are using right now? Are you happy with it? I just want one to be able to render AVC files since with the motherboard graphics, it’s very slow for AVC.

  • I ended up buying Vegas Pro 12. I think I will also spring for a dedicated graphics card. Any suggestions?

    Hi Mike,

I had some issues in the past with rendering and having some fuzziness around moving soccer players. I ended up changing the settings to None (progressive). Also, I thought I read in the latest Vegas Pro 11 book I got from Amazon that it was recommended to use None. Anyway, I’m pretty new at this but for me it worked. Could you please help me out and let me know what’s the difference between using Lower Field First vice None.

  • Stephen,

I believe you’re correct. The solution for me is to load the PMB software on the University’s laptop and do the file transfer using PMB so it correctly puts together the files.

If I do use PMB, I no longer have to record to the SDHC card. I can use the internal memory and just use a USB cable.

I tried rendering and it was very very slow. Is this normal? For a 27 minute clip, how long should I expect it to render? I have an AMD 1090T hex-core processor running at 3.21 GHz with 8 GB of RAM.

[John Rofrano] “I don’t know why you thought you needed to do that before but I’m guessing that DVD Architect re-rendered your video to interlaced because you cannot put progressive video at 29.97fps on a DVD or Blu-ray. That doesn’t conform to the spec. Valid formats are 60i, 50i & 24p only.”

I only encountered this when doing DVDs using SD. I was getting some “fuzziness” around the soccer players in my videos when I either selected Upper field or Lower field. One user recommended that I do the None (Progressive) since I was making this for LCD TVs. It did fix my problem. Also, I rendered the SD just like you mentioned for the HD, by separating the video from the audio. So, there was no re-rendering.

Thank you. I made the change and it worked. I can now see the AC3 Pro using Batch Render.
