The camera’s playback mode must match the format on the tape (HDV or DV) AND Down-convert turned off. Then your Project/Sequence settings must be HDV.

.MTS files seem to import just fine on their own without any supporting folders. I have heard about the necessity for importing folder structures with either P2 or XDCam formats.

Just a suggestion beyond the obvious (do markers last); Put numbered Clip markers at chapter points…these will slip and slide along during editing. Then add Chapter points when completely done.
Just dont trim the markers away with any timeline edits. -
Try dragging the audio to another track.

You can nest a sequence into another sequence giving you a single volume rubber band.
The Audio Mixer can also do this, but beware; the volume adjustment is part of the track and all clips in that track will be adjusted.
You also can lasso all the clips in a track, right click on that selection and choose Audio Gain to adjust all clips up or down or normalize all peaks. -
The DLL thingy allows for import of Dolby audio. Your work flow will recompress all the footage and result in degradation. Main Concept has a plug-in that allows for Smart Rendering but I think it is $400.

Clip appears to be disabled…right click on it and choose Enable.

Google your camera reveals nothing…is it a still camera?

“Scale to frame size” is a option in Preferences>General and is also a right-click contextual option in the timeline. You can lasso a group of photos in the sequence and scale them all at once.
Caution; this option creates small versions of the pics in Media Cache and makes them not suitable for zooming/panning . -
